Black Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter is an international activist movement that originated in America, during July, 2013 and over the coming years garnered tremendous trans-continental awareness and notoriety, mainly due to social media (in particular Twitter) with the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter. This movement gained the majority of it's momentum after Michael Brown, a black teenager, was murdered by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. The official cause of death has been cited on Wikipedia and other reputable websites, where after reaching for Officer Darren Wilson's gun, a struggle ensued in fight for and the secure of the weapon, where Brown ultimately met his demise. The majority of other deaths caused by police officers (black and white officers too, not just white) since are because of resisting arrest and rioting. A nice rule of thumb is to just be smart, handle the situation cautiously and don’t resist. This is especially helpful because if you are not guilty, you have nothing to worry about, and can avoid having charges pressed against you for assault on a police officer. If you resist arrest it's highly likely that you'll just make things worse for yourself.
The movement's founder, Alicia Garza, cites Assata Olugbala Shakur’s powerful demand (waging war upon police officers and killing them) and her significance to Alicia's work, despite her being subject of a multi-state manhunt. What a great role model! Assata was a convicted criminal who was an enthusiast of inflicting violence upon white police officers. She is on the FBI’s most wanted list. The movement started off innocently but rapidly and realistically turned into a ghastly black supremacy movement that supports segregation through hateful rhetoric and inflicting violence - blacks wishing death upon white police officers, as well as being a terrorist and anarchist movement.
This movement has reeked havoc in the streets of America. Many protests that turned into rioting are due to this movement and their anarchist tendencies; a few of these are the Baltimore, Maryland protests during late April to early May, 2015, after the death of Freddie Gray. The Ferguson, Missouri, protests and riots in early to late August, 2014, after the death of Michael Brown. The Chicago, Illinois rioting in late October, 2014, after the death of Laquan McDonald. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana, shooting (which included the death of black police officers too), in wake of the death of Alton Sterling. And finally, the Dallas, Texas massacre in early July, 2016, which saw the tragic demise of five police officers and nine members of the public injured as a result of sniper fire, because of the anti-police attitude at the time. Furthermore, they have also halted pride parades, and by doing so appeared very self-entitled, in particular, the Toronto pride parade during July, 2016. As well as a Bernie Sanders event, which the Black Lives Matter movement had nothing to do with and no particular reason to interrupt and stop it, I'm not a Bernie supporter, but you have to feel bad for him. They have also blocked traffic, meaning members of the public, in particular, Tyree Landrum, a black father of 6, during November, 2014, were unable to get to work on time and risk getting fired, so they’re not only being selfish and self-entitled but also hurting the black community.
These people are essentially little kids throwing their toys out of the pram whilst sticking their fingers in their ears and yelling "LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!", despite supporting a movement based on a lie. Perhaps some of these teens were never taught that violence isn't a sensible solution to conflict, due to Bill Clinton's crime bill, which put a generation of black men and fathers in jail due to petty crimes. It also doesn't help that one of the most prominent role models for black youth in this day and age is Snoop Dogg, someone who, for years, has openly advocated for violence and thug-like activities be perpetrated against the police. Black Lives Matter is a strange movement to behold because it makes you seriously question why they would even consider burning black cities like Ferguson, Missouri, to the ground as they did. Below are a few of the sights at the infamous Ferguson, Missouri rioting.
They act like police officers aren’t people, and are advocating that the police officers die with their “Pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon!” and "What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!" chants. There has also been an abundance of racist tweets from black Black Lives Matter activists in favour of killing and raping white people. They claim to be fighting racism and white supremacy but they are in fact very racist themselves. As stated above, Black Lives Matter is self-entitled, they don't care about anyone else but themselves and their ideology, this enables them to inherently be radically regressive and racist - despite them striving to fight these very same ideas. Most importantly, this movement is undoing all the important work that Martin Luther King fervently fought for in the past, and what he envisioned for the future of America and the future of racial equality.
The problem with this movement is the acts they perpetrate give them an awful name, and don't help their case. They garner substantial amounts of criticisms because there is just so much wrong with their movement, despite the idea behind it being built upon a strong foundation; no more black teen deaths due to police officers. Yes, black people in America kill each other at a higher rate than what the police kill them at, but I can support the idea of police officers not murdering civilians.
The mainstream liberal elite media comes out with being pro black lives matter because they don’t want to appear as a bad company in the public eye. Not to mention them since spinning the narrative to fit the Black Lives Matter agenda and make it seem like there is an epidemic of white police officers murdering black teens - especially with the use of the 'hands up, don't shoot' myth, supported with the help of CNN's vast influence on the American people. That is complete bullshit, just like a lot of the other news they report, and I think it's time that the people knows the truth. There is not an epidemic of black people being killed in the United States, more black people die at the hands of other blacks and not white people. Blacks in America make up roughly 12% of the population but are the cause of 52% of all American homicides. Shocking statistic, I know! This rate has risen significantly since the 1940s and 1950s. So, let's say roughly 6% of the American population are black males, we can also say that, as a fact, 88% of all homicide in America are from males. 93% of black homicide victims are at the hands of other blacks and 53% of these were black men. This rate is 7 times higher than what it is for white people. Finally and most importantly, there were 6,000 black deaths that were caused by other blacks in 2015, whereas only 258 black deaths in 2015 were caused by the police.
